Head Softball Coach

Job Summary
Jackson County School System is seeking a motivated head coach to lead our softball program at East Jackson High School into a competitive region and state power. The coach will be expected to fulfill a full time teaching load with assignment based on experience and teaching certification.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Successful softball coaching experience
• Committed to building the program through GHSA authorized summer camps, spring/summer sped and conditioning training, and building relationships with the local recreation department and middle school programs.
• Committed to working cooperatively with feeder middle school administration and coaches to build a top-notch 6-12 program.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all statekholders including students, staff, parents, community, and booster club members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Education or related field
• Hold or be eligible to hold a GaPSC issued teaching certificate in a high school level field
• Head or assistant coaching experience at the varsity level

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a standard in-person classroom setting
• Regularly involves standing, speaking, and interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
• May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment
• Requires the ability to use classroom technology including projectors, computers, and learning management systems
• Regular work hours are during the school day, with occasional evening or weekend commitments for parent-teacher conferences, school events, or professional development
• Must be adaptable to varying student needs and class sizes
• May include additional duties such as sponsoring extracurricular activities or supervising student clubs

Employment Terms:

• 190 Teaching Work Calendar plus additional coaching reqirements
• Annual Salary based on degree level and previous years of experience in a similar role
• Additional coaching supplement negotiated based on experience
