What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPTA (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant) position at Jackson County Memorial Hospital?
Responsible for directing, modifying and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the staff physical therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff physical therapist, after the physical therapist has evaluated the patient. The PTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The PTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience: * AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required. * Holds current certificate as Physical Therapy Assistant required. * CPR to be obtained during orientation period. * Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required..
