What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Aide position at Jackson County Memorial Hospital?
Responsible for provision and administration of specific physical, occupational, speech, and massage therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff physical, occupational, speech and massage therapist and assistant. The physical, occupational, speech, and massage therapy aide as directed and supervised by the staff physical, occupational, speech, and massage therapist and assistant, assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or occupational disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The P.T., O.T. S.T., or M.T. aide participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Performs clerical duties, assists with posting of patient charges on hardcopy system. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs and other tasks as assigned. Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Satisfactory completion of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Aide Competency Evaluation and Job Training within first three months of employment. CPR to be obtained during orientation period. Some experience as physical therapy, occupational therapy or restorative care aide preferred. Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Ability to write accurately in English. Basic computer knowledge. Basic awareness of physical medicine, occupational therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of it.
