What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Secretary / Nurse Assistant position at Jackson County Memorial Hospital?
Job Summary: Provides indirect and direct care in the department setting. Meets communication needs of the department. Transcribes physician orders form records with notation and signatures by nursing staff. Prepares and compiles records in the department. Maintains regulatory body requirements, policies and procedures and participates in performance improvement activities. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prefer basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Prefer experience as a unit secretary.
- Current BLS Certification (Can be obtained during orientation)
- Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.
