What are the responsibilities and job description for the School nutrition assistant position at Jackson County School System?
JOB GOAL : To assist the Food Service Manager in providing each child with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be of sound physical and mental health
- Possess the ability to work with and get along with children and adults
- Must be reliable and cooperative.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
REPORTS TO : Food Service Manager
SUPERVISION : This position does not supervise others.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Follow instructions and carry out assigned responsibilities.
- Cooperate with manager, co-workers, teachers, and principal
- Cooperate with school food service workers in other schools when necessary
- Prepare and serve food
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Work in a kitchen environment
- May involve exposure to extreme heat and cold
- Works with hands in hot water and chemicals approved for use in the school nutrition program
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud Physical Demands
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and / or reaching overhead.
- Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floors.
- Routinely lift / push / pull items up to 40 pounds.
- Able to meet uniform / dress requirements
