Summary
The Lead Vehicle Detailer will oversee the preparation of off-road vehicles for customers while managing a team of detailers. Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of vehicle detailers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement work schedules to ensure optimal staffing and efficiency
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals, performance, and areas for improvement
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and promote career growth
- Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Oversee daily operations of the detailing department, ensuring all vehicles are processed efficiently and to high standards
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective purchasing
- Lead by example in cleaning, refurbishing, and prepping vehicles efficiently and thoroughly: exterior, interior, underside, under hood, etc.
- Oversee fluid level checks and tire inspections; ensure proper documentation of vehicle condition
- Implement a system for reporting and addressing vehicle safety concerns and damage
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Act as a liaison between the detailing team and other departments or management
- Handle escalated customer issues related to vehicle cleanliness or preparation
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate's degree in automotive technology or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle detailing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of vehicle detailing techniques, products, and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and scheduling
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
