REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CNA License, required (Must have or be willing to acquire).
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified in CPR and First Aid
- Attention to Detail
- Good Written Communication Skills
POSITION SUMMARY
To assist School Nurse in providing quality school nurse services to meet specific requirements in state
statutes, state rules and regulations and District policy related to the overall health care of students in
the school system. Assists School Nurse in the collecting and maintaining of student health data.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining health records and obtaining necessary medical records as required by School Nurse
- Render emergency first aid and/or emergency care as necessary to students and staff members in compliance with established standards and complete accident and service reports and logs.
- Assist in emergency situations in performing all tasks necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of the student and staff
- Dispense medications as necessary during the school day in compliance with established procedures and practices.
- Update student health information
- Review student immunizations and communicate with parents as necessary to acquire all required information.
- Assist with health screenings including vision, hearing, heights and weights under the supervision of the nurse
- Conduct inventory of supplies
- Maintain first aid and room supplies
- Read various charts and graphs and interpret data into charts for documentation purposes.
- Interact positively and appropriately with students and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality standards as defined by local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Work under direct supervision using standardized procedures
- Lead, guide and/or coordinate others
- Operate within a defined budget.
- Other duties as assigned.

EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel.
SALARY SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Classified Student Support Staff Salary Schedule.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Student School Year Calendar 5 days, unless otherwise assigned by supervisor.
This position is only for Spring Semester 2025.
CLEARANCES
Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
