Jackson Energy Cooperative Corp. is seeking two Line Technicians (Apprentice up to 1st Class). One is for the McKee District and one is for the Beattyville District. Must be high school graduate or have G.E.D. equivalent. Must be able to report to District Office within 30 minutes from home.
1st Class Line Technician Requirements: 1) Minimum of 4 years on-the-job experience in electrical line distribution, construction & maintenance, including overhead and under-ground. 2) Must have successfully completed a Lineman Apprenticeship Program, or have certification from another qualified program. 3) Requires experience working after-hours service and outage problems, in trouble-shooting line faults, and equipment. 4) Must have thorough knowledge of safety rules and procedures. 5) Must have experience in determining line feeds, installation and removal/replacement of transformers, OCR's, fuses, voltage regulators capacitors, etc. 6) Must have a valid Kentucky CDL. Normal work week is 40 hours, but will be required to work irregular hours and overtime in outage and emergency situations and to participate in the On-Call Program.
Apprentice Line Technician Requirements: 1) Must have experience in use of various tools and equipment, such as standard vehicle operation, 2) Must have or be willing to obtain a commercial driver's license, 3) Must have successfully completed, or be currently enrolled in, a Lineman Apprenticeship Program, or have certification from another qualified program. 4) Must obey safety rules and procedures and attend safety meetings, job training, etc. Normal 40-hour work week Monday through Friday, but is required to work irregular hours and overtime in outage and emergency situation and to participate in the On-Call Program.
