Position Overview

The Director of IT is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's information technology infrastructure. This position ensures that the office's IT systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with the company's business goals and financial operations. The Director will work closely with other senior members to support the company’s operations, investment strategies, and wealth management.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the long-term IT strategy in alignment with the company's goals, ensuring that technology supports all investment and operational needs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate new technologies and digital solutions to improve efficiency, security, and scalability of the company’s operations.
  • Infrastructure & Operations Management:
  • Oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, and mobile devices, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Manage the office’s data storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure that IT systems are compliant with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in terms of data security, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management:
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive company operational and financial data.
  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and implement proactive security measures to minimize risks.
  • Conduct regular IT audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • IT Support & Service Delivery:
  • Manage the IT support function, ensuring a high level of service delivery to senior members and staff, with a focus on quick response times and efficient issue resolution.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all office technology and systems, including hardware and software.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices, software tools, and IT policies.


  • Budgeting & Vendor Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effective solutions and efficient resource utilization.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure high-quality service and value.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors to align with company needs and budget constraints.
  • Project Management & Implementation:
  • Lead IT-related projects, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion within budget and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new systems, software, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Manage the integration of new technologies and systems with existing platforms.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of the company’s data, supporting key financial and investment decisions.
  • Implement best practices for data governance and ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Produce regular reports on IT performance, security status, and project progress for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or PMP) are preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing IT operations and infrastructure in a private, financial, or family office environment.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance.
  • Experience with financial software, accounting systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, and systems administration.
  • Proficiency in IT project management and vendor management.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and manage IT investments and budgets.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws, cybersecurity frameworks, and industry best practices.

Additional Information
