POSITION TITLE: Harvest Laboratory Assistant (Seasonal)
FACILITY: Kendall-Jackson, Lakeport, California
We are looking for an individual to join us for Harvest 2025 at our historic winery in Lakeport!
This position is responsible for a variety of tasks at the winery, including supporting the winemaking team. Kendall-Jackson Lakeport specializes in the production of aromatic whites including Sauvignon Blanc.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Facility Winemaker, the successful candidate, will have the opportunity to become an integral member of the harvest team by becoming proficient in the following:
- Monitor fermentation of tanks and barrels daily
- Process grape maturity samples, including reporting results
- Maintain Winemaker’s database (BIMS)
- Perform routine wet chemistry analysis as needed
- Collect samples from tanks and barrels as needed
- Assist in the coordination of samples to external lab
- Participate in lab general housekeeping
- Adherence to company safety regulations related to employee, equipment and chemicals
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and cellar staff
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Background/Experience
- This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
- Previous lab experience is preferred, but not required
Physical Demands
- Required to stand for extended periods of time, occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and able to lift and move up to 35 pounds of weight.
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work weekdays including Saturdays
WAGE TRANSPARENCY:
The base pay for this role ranges from $19.00 - $24.00. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
