Payroll Clerk

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The candidate for this position must be dependable and have strong Excel skills. Also, they need to have an understanding of the general payroll process. Discretion, confidentiality, dependability, attention to detail and accuracy are essential for success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Supervision to collect and record time and attendance
• Break out time/pay for Piecework employees for further processing
• Report time to Accounting/Payroll in a time sensitive deadline
• Use Macros to import time sheets into our payroll software
• Verify and balance timecard reports
• General payroll reporting to be completed in excel
• Maintain vacation and personal leave
• Cross training and assisting other departments as needed
• Other projects as assigned
  
  

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma required
• Proficient with Excel, and 10-key data entry
• Associates degree in related field preferred
• 3 years in an Accounting/Payroll function preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• This position will require strong communications with various levels within the organization
• This position requires a close attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment between several different departments
• This position requires a strong sense of personal responsibility and ethics.
• Intermediate knowledge of excel and the ability to read, write, count and do intermediate math
• Ability to show up to work on-time, every day, and take direction
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to go onto the production floor to meet with supervision and collect data on a daily basis
• Ability to work as directed to include overtime and selected weekend days
• Ability to adapt, adjust, conquer and over-come challenges
