MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Two (2) year degree in Radiological Sciences
- ARRT certification/eligible in Radiography
- West Virginia State Licensure.
- One (1) year of experience in Radiology and CT
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Four (4) year degree in Radiological Sciences
- Two (2) years of CT experience
- Experience in special procedures
- Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging.
- Sets up and adjusts equipment dependent on the exam being performed.
- Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.
- Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.
- Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.
- Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
- Differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white television monitor or photograph.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Wear a lead apron weighing approximately 8 to 15 pounds for extended periods of time.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds of weight.
- Carry items up to 20 pounds.
- Exposure to minimal radiation within the national standards of occupational guidelines. Monitored by Radiation Safety and use of dosimeter.
- Exposure to airborne particles and bodily fluids.
- Operation of imaging equipment with automated moving parts.
- Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and members of the Health Care Team.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
- Ability to improvise with altered positioning techniques, manipulation of the equipment, and accessory devices when routine positioning is compromised due to patient’s condition, age, or ability
