Summary
The Media Relations & Branded Content team at Jackson Health System is seeking a dynamic Communications Coordinator with a passion for content creation and storytelling. This role will report directly to the associate director of media relations and branded content. In this role, the candidate will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of media relations and branded content strategies to support Jackson's public relations team, working closely with internal stakeholders and members of the news media. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working remotely and in an office setting, as needed.
This is a project-oriented position with some oversight and works in a confidential capacity. Responsible for maintaining information not available to the general public as confidential. Position requires exercise of independent judgment.

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or journalism is required.

Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day needs of key service lines across the health system, such as monthly meetings with stakeholders to plan and develop patient testimonials, social media content, press releases and media stories.
- Work closely with the social media team to brainstorm, plan, and create captivating content as needed including reels, photos and captions.
- Help shape the voice of our brand through consistent, creative posts.
- Respond to media requests and coordinate thought leadership media opportunities.
- Support reputation and crisis management of health system.
- Attend hospital events as needed, including supervision of activations.
- Specializes in and Exercise innovative insight and vision in effectively communicating important internal communications messages for a wide audience, as well as writing for public relations to promote Jackson to external audiences in various methods, including press releases, editorial content, and social media posts.
- Provide writing support for the Communications & Outreach team in the following areas: internal communications, media relations, digital communications, outreach/events, and patient experience projects.
- Work independently on various writing tasks, in compliance with deadlines.
- Manage logistics for events, including preparation of marketing materials.
- Demonstrate behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
- Generally requires 2 to 3 years of related communications experience.
- Experience in content creation for social media and proficiency in copy writing and caption creation.
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or journalism is required.

- Candidate must have excellent writing skills and be able to work in a confidential capacity.
- Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate social media, technology, and software applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- This position requires exercise of independent judgment, the ability to make and affect decision-making among peers, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
- Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
