Summary

Transcranial Doppler Technologist is responsible for assisting the assistant Scientist and the Ultrasound Technologist; Performs different diagnosis Transcranial Doppler tests in admitted Stroke patients as part of their regular work up, as well as out patients, as follows: Diagnostic Transcranial Doppler test, TCD monitoring Emboli detection test, Agitated normal saline test, and vasomotor reactivity test. Process data generated by studies to be interpreted by physician.

Responsibilities

• Provides nerosonology and ultrasound diagnostic test for patients.
• Performs neurosonolgy ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.
• Schedules patients and explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Positions patients and selects appropriate transducer.
• Maintains neurosonology and ultrasound equipment, orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies, maintains departments records, reports and files.
• Performs related work as required/assigned, i.e. participates in staff development and educational activities, attends required meetings and participates in committees, etc.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
  
  

Experience

• Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
  
  

Education

• High School diploma is required.

Credentials

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
