Summary
Cashier 1 is responsible for receiving and maintaining records for a large volume of cash receipts in payment of bills, taxes, issuance of receipts for monies collected, maintenance of records of work transactions, deposit of cash, and validation of cash and negotiable instruments.
Responsibilities
- Picks up initial working bank; verifies contents and signs for it. T
- akes a beginning register reading, fills and locks changer, removes the key and checks date on register.
- Registers the sale for each tray as the Customer approaches and makes proper change as needed.
- Takes the reading to report all sales during duty hours; removes the journal tape and turns it in with his/her deposit.
- Determines amount of deposit by use of opening and closing figures for the total amount of sales for the day.
- Takes inventory reading of all sales by individual cash registers and gives it to Nutritional Services for checks and balances.
- Uses prices of varied items on each meal's menu; sees that customers follow check out line and operates a changer with speed to avoid delays.
- Rotates to other areas of cashiering when needed.
- Assists with office activities that are necessary for other sections assigned to the Cashiering Department.
- Balances working bank daily.

- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
Education
High School diploma is required.
