Job Summary:
The Director of Quality facilitates implementation and monitors quality improvement and patient safety activities throughout the organization; acts as a role model and resource to all levels of staff in defining, educating, implementing and evaluating standards of care and practice using clinical expertise, clinical processes, and current concepts, principles of education, quality improvement, clinical practice and health care trends. The incumbent will promote continuous readiness by assisting healthcare and medical staff on improvement performance on national, state, and locally reported measures, as well as compliance with quality national programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track, trend, interpret, and share outcomes data with clinical leadership.
- Collects data concurrently and retrospectively.
- Facilitates, supports, and organizes process improvement teams, provide support services to such teams and maintains and regularly updates clinical performance improvement/quality management opportunities, plan and strategies.
- Assist facility in preparations for surveys (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, AHCA), conducts quality surveys, and ensures continuous readiness for State and Federal surveys.
- Collaborates on the formulating a response to quality of care/clinical inquiries from regulatory agencies and/or third party payors.
- Maintains and regularly updates clinical performance improvement/quality management plan and strategies and collaborates with other disciplines to ensure that all the outcome measures are concurrently met.
- Ensures that process improvement teams are effectively structured and managed to meet healthcare system objectives and ensures results of all quality and performance improvement activities are integrated facility wide.
- Serves as a consultant to staff and leadership team as they prepare business plans to ensure standards based quality of care is maintain or enhanced and actively participates in clinical staff or committee meetings as assigned.
- Develops, reviews, or revises departmental and system policies and procedures and works on projects timely, effectively and meets due dates.
- Facilitates and manages the Medical Peer Review process effectively and timely (applies to Jackson North, Jackson South and Jackson West ONLY).

- The leader further understands that JHS is committed to its role in preventing health care fraud and abuse and complying with applicable state and federal laws related to health care fraud and abuse.
- This commitment is supported and enabled through an anonymous hotline which serves as one of several mechanisms for reporting suspected fraud, waste and/or abuse, as well as other compliance related issues.
- The leader to report through any of the reporting mechanisms (e.g., anonymous hotline, supervisor, Compliance Officer) any suspected health care fraud, waste and/or abuse as well as other compliance-related issues.
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Experience
- Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Management experience is strongly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
