Summary
Stationary Engineer performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a County hospital, institution, large office building or complex of buildings; may instruct or lead other engineers; may instruct or lead resident workers; and do other related work.
Responsibilities
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Demonstrates mechanical ability.
- Keep accurate records.
- Install, operate, and make repairs to the various types of equipment listed at the plants.
- Make written reports, read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings and specifications.
- Lay out work for others and direct them in this work.
- Analyze situation accurately and take effective actions.
- Maintain and adjust temperatures for the different buildings keeping comfortable temperatures.
- Possess , initiative, dependability, good judgment, ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Education
High School diploma is required.
