What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Educator position at Jackson Healthcare Government Services, LLC?
Place of Performance :
The work to be performed under this contract will be at Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA.
Scheduling / Hours of Performance :
Monday-Friday, between the hours of 0730 and 1900 hours.
Shifts will be scheduled for an 8.5 to 9 hour period, to include an uncompensated 30 to 60 minute lunch break, respectively.
On rare occasions, this position will require services after normal work day hours or on weekends for participation in health education events.
The Health Education will not exceed 80 hours in a two week period.
Minimum Requirements
Degree / Education : Bachelor's Degree in Health Education, Community Health, Public Health or a Human Services related field. Graduate from an accredited college or university.
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) (must be active)
Experience : One year if specialized experience as a Health Educator after graduation.
Core Duties
Provide health promotion and education opportunities including, but not limited to :
Tobacco awareness; tobacco cessation classes or appointments consistent with the MTF tobacco cessation program; and nutrition education and weight management.
Develop population-based programs targeting high-risk groups and individuals, implementing programs through group and individual counseling and education.
Plan and implement health education programs as specified in the TO. Perform limited administrative duties, which include maintaining statistical records of workload and data entry and analysis of
patient outcomes.
Maintain educational materials to support health promotion and education.
