A handyman's job is to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.

• Minor repairs : Fixing light sockets, re-hanging doors, and repairing fixtures
• Maintenance : Performing routine maintenance on a client's home or office building
• Safety : Installing safety equipment and conducting health and safety checks
• Carpentry : Building bookshelves, installing cabinets, and finding studs
• Painting : Painting and other general maintenance and repair tasks

Plumbing : Performing basic repairs of the plumbing

Landscaping : Maintaining and installing new landscaping

HVAC : Maintaining aspects of the HVAC system by changing filters and performing routine maintenance and inspection
