What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician II - PRN Variable position at Jackson Hospital and Clinic?
Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists in preparing (sterile and non-sterile) and distributing medications, entering medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, issuing narcotics, restocking automated dispensing devices, surgery, floor stock areas, crash carts and fire medic kits, processing patient charges and credits and maintaining the drug inventory. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College courses desirable, but not required. Experience: 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience or 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician I after receiving additional training. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Pharmacy Technician Registration through the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy, National Technician Certification required.
