Job Description
To assist with the establishment and maintenance of a safe Environment of Care for the entire population of Jackson Hospital including patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
Requirements
High school diploma; B.S. degree preferred. Previous experience related to safety management in a healthcare facility setting preferred. Certificates of training in areas related to the safe operation of medical facilities preferred. Computer, general office equipment. Responsible for understanding, interpreting, developing, and implementing Life Safety, Fire Safety and Environment of Care regulations (EOC), guidelines and best practices. Services also include risk assessment and proactive process improvement to prevent harm. Must have a working knowledge and understanding of fire detection/suppression and utility systems; must have a working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regulating operational practices for health care facilities, including accrediting organizations. The ability to; read and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and schematics of building structures and utility systems. Must be able to assess hazards and prepare plans to respond to emergencies and disasters to minimize risk to people and property. The ability to lift fifty pounds: The ability to; walk for extended periods. The ability to; climb ladders.
