Description
The Certified Physician Extender will work in collaboration with a physician to provide urology / urogynecology care services for ambulatory patients in the Jackson Clinic. Performs new patient, follow-up, and walk-in visits in collaboration with the primary care physician. Documents and submits to the physician a list of patient encounters made each day for approval. Documents and submits charges for all patient encounters in the electronic medical record. Assists and takes initiative in handling issues of a non-routine nature. Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program; National certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is also required. Previous work experience is required in the ambulatory care setting. Current licensure as a CRNP or as a Physician Assistant in the State of Alabama. Strong oral and written communication skills required, as well as leadership and organizational abilities. We require an individual who is self-directed and who will accept accountability for their actions.
