What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeline Peer Project Coordinator position at Jackson Madison Prevention Coalition?
Overview
Responsible for coordinating activities in Chester, Decatur, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, and Tipton Counties associated with the following activities:
· Increasing the availability of evidence-based addiction and recovery programs such as, but not limited to, Alcohol Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) strategies;
· Increasing the number of policies, practices, and procedures to divert individuals into evidence-based addiction, recovery, and relapse programs rather than incarceration;
· Decreasing the incidence and frequency of substance use relapses experienced by individuals recovering from addiction; and
· Strengthening capacity and infrastructure at the state, region, and community levels in support of substance abuse addiction and recovery services in Tennessee.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Lifeline Peer Project to meet the four activities described in the Scope of Responsibility.
2. Serve as an active participant in the Tennessee Prevention Advisory Council (TN-PAC) Regional Workgroup quarterly meetings.
3. Participate in County Health Councils in designated Mental Health Planning and Policy Region Six (6) South counties.
4. Participate in and attend existing Community Anti-Drug Coalition meetings in designated Mental Health Planning and Policy Region Six (6) South counties.
5. Conduct a review of regional, county, and community data for a addiction and recovery needs assessment to determine areas requiring recovery services.
6. Create a strategic plan that defines vision and goals for the project
7. Facilitate the selection and implementation of evidence-based recovery programs, policies, and practices in the designated counties
8. Assess the effectiveness of programs through instruments and surveys provided by the State
9. Develop a state-approved Implementation Plan for the Lifeline Peer Project.
10. Submit data and reports to the State as specified in the Contract.
11. Convene and participate in scheduled meetings, workgroups, and conferences as designated by the State.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Skills
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
In recovery for a period of no less than (2) years requirement
Successful completion of training for certified Peer Specialist
Attendance to required mandatory training for Lifeline Coordinators by the State
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to use a personal computer for word processing, email, Internet and data entry
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
