Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Music Ministry to lead our music program and inspire our community through the power of music. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a commitment to mentoring musicians, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups. As our Director of Music Ministry you will play a pivotal role in educating and developing talent while fostering a collaborative and creative environment and providing an outstanding music program during our Sunday Morning Worship Service.
20 hours per week to include practices, worship services, and meetings with our Pastor to plan the service(s) each week; competitive starting hourly rate; 10 paid holidays per year; vacation after 1 year of service; bereavement pay; personal days each year;
Required Duties
- Must communicate and schedule practices between praise band members each week;
- Officiate rehearsals and co-facilitate services along with our Pastor;
- Provide piano accompaniment and lead singing simultaneously of a variety of genres and styles including contemporary Christian music, UMC hymnal hymns, and other musical supplements;
- Prepare and perform solo piano pieces as warranted and fitting, usually for Communion;
- Organize and create slides for all service items in ProPresenter;
- Organize information in Planning Center Services, and create printouts for A/V workers, band members and our Pastor, Church Treasurer, A/V Director and other committees as needed for administrative tasks;
- File sheet music in music office library;
- Track maintenance of technical/instrumental parts;
- Work along side our Pastor, Church Treasurer, A/V Director and other committees a needed for administrative tasks.
