The Dietary Service Worker - Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for patients, guests, and staff following established guidelines and procedures.

·         Prepares nutritious meals for distribution to patients, quests, service/dining area, and catering

·         Keeps work area clean and free of hazards

·         Monitors and maintains correct temperatures for all foods prepared

·         Keeps pots, pans, and other tools washed and follows established guidelines for sanitation

·         Preps food items as necessary for the following day

·         Records temperatures for coolers and freezers

·         Assists with customer-facing duties as needed, including tray delivery, catering events, and serving on the line

·         Floats to other positions within kitchen as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Education

·         High school diploma or GED required

·         Food Protection Manager or Food Handler Certification preferred

Experience

·         Previous food preparation experience required

·         Previous experience with therapeutic diet preferred
