Position Summary:
Responsible for coordination and performance of all laboratory testing for the facility in accordance with state and federal licensing organizations plus private accreditation organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or Science and certified as an MT or CLS (AMT, ASCP, or NCA).(OR) Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology AND have at least 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.(OR) Anyone who graduated before February 28, 1992, must have passed the HEW.HHS proficiency exam for medical technologist or completed 90 hours in an accredited college with 16 hours in chemistry (6 semester hours in organic chemistry), 12 hours in biology and 3 hours of math and experience training or both covering several fields of medical laboratory work of at least one year and of such quality as to provide the education and training in medical technology.
- Six (6) Years experience as a Laboratory Supervisor. Prefer experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
