Description
The Division of Library and Information Resources/H.T. Sampson Library is accepting applications for its University Archivist position.
Examples of Duties
Management, appraisal, processing, preservation, and organization of archival materials, including special collections and university records.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for archival management, ensuring the protection and accessibility of materials.
Provide reference service and research assistance related to the archives, special collections, and other areas of the library as needed.
Digitize archival materials and manage digital preservation initiatives.
Promote awareness of archival resources through outreach, exhibits, and collaborations.
Share nights and weekends.
Typical Qualifications
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program in Library and Information Science.
Experience planning and/or providing information literacy instruction or other teaching experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well independently, and as a team member.
Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of information literacy, organization trends, practices, and issues.
Demonstrated abilities in research scholarly work and professional services.
Academic degree or academic subject background.
