Surveying crew member

Jackson Surveying, Inc is currently seeking a field crew member for a full time position. The ideal candidate will have experience with land surveying; but we will consider training someone who is responsible, motivated, and a team player. We are a small team and work closely together; a positive attitude will go a long way. A valid driver's license is required for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Position and hold the vertical rods, or targets, that theodolite operators use for sighting in-order-to measure angles, distances, and elevations.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data, using notes, drawings, sketches, etc.
• Run rods for benches and cross-section elevations.
• Search for section corners, property irons, and survey points.
• Must be capable of preparing and/or organizing daily field notes, sketches, photos, etc. and manage data collector files and downloading.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles used by surveying crews.
• Perform manual labor, such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, rebar, and other heavy items.
• Ability to stand and walk ±8 hours a day.
• Have the ability to work in hot, cold, rainy and/or other weather conditions.
• Work out of town or weekends occasionally

Pay: Based on experience, $16-$18/hr

SKILLS & ABILITIES

High school graduate or equivalent required

Valid Driver's License required.

Must be able to pass drug test and federal background check.

Previous land surveying experience preferred.
