Job Title: Payroll SpecialistSchedule: FT/Hourly, Monday - Friday (Day)Location: Meridian, Idaho (Hybrid)
Jacksons Companies is seeking a Payroll Specialist to become a member of our Human Resources team. The Specialist’s core responsibility is to process bi-weekly payroll for designated business units. Furthermore, the role will also conduct audits, address employee inquiries, and resolve payroll-related issues. The preferred candidate will possess excellent customer service abilities, as well as have proficiency in financial and HR software applications. This role reports directly to the Payroll Manager.
Responsibilities:• Perform bi-weekly payroll by required pay dates.• Prepare off-cycle paychecks to meet business needs. • Collaborate with team members on the HR, IT, and Finance teams.• Answer employee questions throughout the day via in-person, email, or phone inquiries.• Input and configure data into HR and Financial software. • Assist in the preparation of quarterly tax filings and payments.• Detect and troubleshoot payroll-related issues. • Ensure employee pay is within federal and state compliance.• Audit a variety of payroll processes and pay groups. • Perform pay calculations and reconcile data.• Receive and process garnishments and court orders.• Attend team meetings and participate in assigned projects. • Navigate multiple systems, particularly HR Payroll Software and Microsoft Office. • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:• High School Diploma/GED. A College Degree or relevant certification is preferred. • 2 years of payroll or related experience.• 1 year of working directly with payroll software and Microsoft office. • Foundational mathematic skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).• Strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills. • Ability to meet company deadlines. • Ability to collaborate in a team environment. • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and problem solve.

Physical Environment:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.• Required work schedule is Monday – Friday during regular daytime business hours.• Full Time Role working 40 hours a week with occasional overtime. • Hybrid Schedule- three days in office, two days remote. Orientation in-office for the first sixty days. • Business casual office setting. Seating includes cubicles and offices.
