Position Title: East Lab Teacher (Environmental and Spatial Technology)
Campus: Bobby G. Lester Elementary (BGLE)
Reports To: Building Principal
Contract: 2025-2026 School Year (190 Days)
Closing Date: Until Filled
SUMMARY: To provide teamwork, responsibility, accountability, and personal initiative which gives student’s confidence that they can learn and use technology to solve real world problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In-service to aid in implementing project-based learning will be provided.
- In-service addressing transition to a facilitator of learning by motivating students to learn and to solve problems with the aid of technology will be provided.
- Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students.
- Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
- Prepare for class assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
- Establish learning objectives consistent with an appraisal of student needs, requirements of Arkansas learning standards and curriculum frameworks and knowledge of human growth and development.
- Adhere to the curriculum pacing guide in order to maximize student learning.
- Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques, which motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
- Take all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy.
- Develop reasonable Classroom behavior rules and procedures, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.
- Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in the evaluation process.
- Technical training related to computer-aided design, design engineering, architectural, visualization, and geoprocessing technology will be provided.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Summer training required.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE: Must have a valid Arkansas teaching license. License Code 528 (Computer Science), or any other license code related to technology is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members and the general public.
