Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Camp Program Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting various educational and recreational programs aimed at enhancing the development of children. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with youth, demonstrating creativity, patience, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
We are looking to hire assistants for our Morning Summer Program
Some of the highlights of this position:
- Fixed hours 7:30am - 12:30pm, Monday - Thursday
- Paid Orientation Day, the week of June 2nd before the program begins
- 6 week Summer Program focused on word integration, vocabulary, and comprehension, not including the week of June 30th
- Entire week of June 30th - July4th off
- Patient age range is from Potty Trained 3 year old - 11 years old
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate planned group activities, including set-up, clean-up and preparation of materials.
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Help manage group behavior by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among the children.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding their children's progress and participation in programs.
- May be assigned other tasks as needed, such as assisting with check-in/check-out procedures.
Experience
Candidates should ideally have experience or skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Daycare or childcare settings
- Working with students in an educational capacity
- Special education support or knowledge
- Experience with children in various recreational settings such as camps or sports coaching
- Tutoring or mentoring experience
- First aid certification is a plus
- Babysitting experience
