Position Summary :
A Summer Camp & Conference Assistant (CA) is a thirteen-week summer student position working with a variety of camp and conference groups. A CA will work as a part of team designed and trained to provide excellent customer service to camp / conference directors and participants. This position is a "live-on" position that requires each employee to live in on campus housing during employment. These staff members must live in assigned areas and perform the required duties.
Positions may be filled based on individual applicants' skills, qualifications, and departmental needs.
Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work scheduled shifts at the front desk to provide customer service and desk coverage.
- Work nightly on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
- Work all conference services check ins and check outs as needed and / or assigned.
- Work scheduled shifts in designated residence halls to facilitate orientation room tours for first-year orientation students, parents, and their guests.
- Check rooms and common areas for damages before and after occupancy by conference groups.
- Serve as a resource for guests.
- Assist conference sponsors and guests with special needs and problems.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and pleasant environment in the buildings.
- Perform data entry as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary and follow procedures in addressing situations.
- Attend weekly and emergency staff meetings as required.
- Assist the Assistant Director of UHO with special projects during closed periods.
- Complete other duties as assigned that are consistent with the position.
