What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer (Full-Time/Hybrid) position at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens?
Are you a creative graphic designer? Are you the graphic designer who would enjoy working with a team to announce our births at our Zoo through digital advertising, billboards, and in-park signage? Our marketing team is seeking an innovative artist to produce promotional print and digital creative artwork developing strategic, on-brand creative for brand campaigns and marketing initiatives. The team of marketing experts collaborates across the organization to support brand awareness and business goals for events, fundraising, membership, community relations, education, and conservation programs. The role is onsite managing design projects, working with internal and external creatives, and producing high-visibility projects with tight deadlines. You'll collaborate with the team to develop and execute visual marketing strategies, creating compelling visuals across various touch points. This position will be executing designs across a wide range of media, from large-format digital to small-format with high visibility across various channels of advertising, billboards, print, social media, and video. You have prepared for the role with one (1) year of experience in a similar capacity. You are the subject matter expert with project management to prioritize competing priorities and communicate updates timely. You'll need excellent oral and written communication skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills to succeed in this role.

Do you have…
- A bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent?
- One (1) year experience in a similar role?
- Technical aptitude to stay updated on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies to enhance design capabilities and efficiency.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools for both print and digital media.
A Plus…
- Over (2) years experience in a similar role.
- Ability to film and produce video content for social media and on-site delivery.
- Familiarity with Zoology, Conservation, or Horticulture.
- Proficiency in capturing professional high-resolution photographs using a DSLR and other cameras.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to transport, lift or move items up to 20 pounds without difficulty for short distances.
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors under all environmental conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to consistently speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation, public speaking, and general communication with public audiences.
- Ability to access the organization on foot and/or operate a motorized cart.
- Ability to accurately perceive and distinguish colors.
- Exceptional visual acuity required, along with the ability to communicate, comprehend and decipher information accurately, using a two-way radio.
- Manual dexterity for standing, reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, stoop, bend, lift, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, dig and prolonged standing/sitting.
- Visual and auditory acuity appropriate for animal care, safety and to discern differences for computer screens, documents and/or labels.
- Auditory acuity for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, two-way radio, and face-to-face interactions.
