Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that construction department activities are handled using best practices to execute projects as efficiently and safely and possible. The Forman is responsible for staying up to date on all applicable building codes and underground storage tank construction and maintenance regulations. The position is a working position expected to participate in the physical construction of projects while managing team project execution.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
MANAGERIAL
- Maintain familiarity with all applicable Federal and California laws concerning underground storage tank construction, test, and repair.
- Maintain ICC certifications required to execute all phases of construction on USTs: New Build, Modifications, and Decommissioning.
- Maintain and care for department tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory.
- Enforce safe work practices and safety training for employees including OSAH safety requirements. Enforce team DOT time keeping compliance for employees using DOT regulated vehicles.
EXECUTION
- Plan efficient project execution and delegate tasks to team.
o Tank and piping installation, removals
o Monitoring System connection and programming
o Canopy foundation builds
- Organize inspections with authorities having jurisdictions.
- Mobilize material and equipment between projects
- Operate heavy equipment: excavator, backhoe, skid steer
- Train and quality control crew work
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior UST installation experience
- Prior construction team lead experience
- Drawing reading and project execution planning
- Material planning and requisition
- Ability to travel and work out of town as needed
- Capable and honest leader able to keep a crew motivated and productive
- Strong technical inclination and problem solving skills
- Awareness of General Building Code and California Electric Code
- Time management, planning, and work prioritization skills
- Heavy equipment experience (backhoe, excavator) required
- Physically fit and able to work in sumps and from ladders and man lifts
- Valid Driver’s License
- Able to pass pre-employment drug testing and background
- General awareness of common building trade methods:
o Electrical
o Plumbing
o Grading and Concrete
o Framing, wood and steel
o Roofing
o Interior and Exterior Finishes
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
