POSITION PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Corporate Sponsorships & Partnerships Director, the Graphic Designer will conceptualize, design, create and produce marketing, advertising, sponsorship and other public relations pieces that promote support for and utilization of the Food Bank’s vital hunger-relief programs. The Graphic Designer will work alongside cross-functional teams including communications, development, digital marketing, and programs to support the services, events, programs, and mission of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE
To fill the Graphic Designer role, a candidate must have graduated from a four-year college or university with a major in graphic design, advertising, marketing or a related field. In addition, candidates who have received 2 to 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of training and experience would be welcomed.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media. Candidate will have mid-level to high-level understanding of graphic design and knowledge of related design platforms like Canva and Adobe suite of products. Preferred candidate will have 4-7 years of graphic design work in the creative or marketing field, either in for-profit or nonprofit organizations.

The Graphic Designer will work alongside cross-functional teams including communications, development, digital marketing, and programs to support the services, events, programs, and mission of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

- Use visual concepts to communicate ideas to stakeholders and create layouts and production designs for a variety of applications, including print and digital advertisements, brochures, magazines, reports, posters, marketing materials, and website.
- Develop and maintain programmatic marketing materials that promote the Food Bank’s programs and services among its client population and those in need of food assistance and resources in the community.
- Assist with the creation of collateral for the organization’s major campaigns and special events, including, but not limited to the Food Bank’s annual gala, open house receptions, golf tournament, donor appreciation events, holiday food drive, summer food drive, fall food drive, and all other campaigns and events as directed.
- Support the Food Bank’s digital marketing strategies with graphics/creative in support of program-based content for e-blast and digital advertising campaigns targeting supporters, volunteers, donors, clients, and nonprofit partners.
- Create PowerPoint presentations with current messaging to be used by staff to communicate with key stakeholders including donors, volunteers and community partners.
- Responsible for management and upkeep of all San Diego Food Bank branded collateral including but not limited to branded tents, banners and evergreen posters used in community outreach.
- Maintain a frequently updated inventory list of available organizational print collateral (flyers, brochures, postcards, etc.) including program flyers, fundraising flyers and others.
- Manage the ordering process of Food Bank branded stationery to support the Food Bank’s development strategies, donor outreach and nonprofit partner communications.
- Work in tandem with other staff in the Marketing/Comms Department to manage and maintain the organization’s marketing assets, such as, electronic files for photos, brochures, flyers, HTML, email, etc.
- Use project tracking software such as Click Up or Excel to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials to meet assigned deadlines.
- Coordinate production with external vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must have own vehicle and will receive monthly reimbursements for mileage.
COMPENSATION
- This is a full-time, Exempt /benefited position.
- A market level competitive salary is between $70,000 - $82,000, based on experience.
- The compensation package includes a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including: 403(b) plan with 200% employer matching; excellent health care coverage with free employee medical, dental and vision plans; company paid term life insurance; and a generous accrual of paid vacation and sick leave.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Days and hours of work are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00pm
- This position may require earlier morning start times, OT, and weekend shifts.
