Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, engineering, and construction. We are looking to add a Cost Analyst to our growing team out at the Spent Fuel Handling Project that is located approximately 55 miles outside of Idaho Falls to support corporate financial systems and multiple EPCM construction projects.
The Construction Cost Analyst will be responsible for :
- Analyzing financial data and assisting project management to optimize project costs
- Assist with invoice review / approval, project baseline development / review, and performance tracking / reporting
- This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes and financial management.Reports to Project Controls Manager through the Project Controls Cost Lead
- Evaluate the cost structure and time phasing of construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses
- Prepare / review accurate budgets and forecasts, considering future financial needs and trends. Compare budgeted costs, earned value of completed work, and actual costs Collaborate with technical managers and subcontractors to explain work accomplished and variances from original plan
- Provide recommendations to address any differences. Create detailed cost reports to provide management with insights into operational efficiency and cost trends
- Work closely with finance, operations, and procurement teams to ensure cost aligns with contract requirements and business goals
- Recommend changes to operational processes to reduce costs without compromising quality or efficiency
- Use knowledge of general application of construction and cost pricing principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards to perform moderately complex assignments under general supervision
