Working predominantly in the design of nature-based solutions, coastal protection projects, flood resilience, and/or numerical modeling studies you will be involved in a multitude of projects spanning from regional coastal resilience projects to waterfront development projects to climate adaptation projects for a range of public and private sector clients across the globe. Your key responsibilities will be to: - Learn and engage in the design of coastal structures, with an emphasis on nature-based solutions and grey infrastructure to enhance resilience to coastal flooding - Contribute to the preparation of design drawings, technical memorandums, technical specifications, and design reports for the successful delivery of our coastal projects - Work collaboratively across the various disciplines and markets within Jacobs to further develop your professional career and knowledge while being a key part of our project delivery teams projects Typical salary range for this position is $64,000 - $80,000/year and is commensurate with experience relative to the position. For "remote" positions, salary to be offered is geographic dependent. - Bachelor’s Degree in Coastal, Ocean or Civil engineering - Ability to work in-person in our New York City our Houston office a minimum of 2-days a week - Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and subject matter experts to deliver projects, in both in-person and remote environments - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge or familiarity with coastal modeling software and principles - Familiarity and experience with GIS and/or 2D/3D drafting software ( i.e. AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc.) - Strong data analysis skills with computer programming (i.e. Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, C, etc) Ideally, you’ll also have: - Master’s Degree in Coastal, Ocean engineering or related field - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to get one within 1 year of joining us - Prior experience in an internship involving coastal studies, coastal structures design, or other coastal-related processes are preferred - Demonstrate experience with coastal and marine models such as Delft3D, MIKE21 suite of programs, or other coastal numerical modeling program
