Your Day to Day
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to identify innovative ideas for the division. Track, evaluate and recommend innovations for implementation.
- Evaluate current processes and applications to identify beneficial workflow improvements.
- Develop, produce, and administer the use of application-based reports and dashboards.
- Manage the development and implementation of operational team strategies.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement operational infrastructure, systems, and processes to accommodate the growth objectives of the division.
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs regarding Jacobsen Building Services processes and applications, including updates and releases.
- Assess the team’s utilization of organizational policies, directives, and procedures.
- Serve as a leader, coach, and example to Jacobsen Building Services teams.
- Continually assess and evaluate the impact of emerging technologies.
- Assist Supervisors with operational needs.
- Prepare division reports, including project, financial and schedule status.
- Maintain and organize the shared drive and project folders.
- Help with pricing, ordering, and procuring materials and equipment for projects.
- Keep track of division tool and material inventories.
- Schedule manpower in collaboration with the JBS Supervisors and Superintendent.
- Integrate service software into the JBS business unit when approved and procured.
- Help with RFI’s and Submittals if requested/needed during both preconstruction and construction phases.
- Manage the divisions lesson’s learned log.
- Assist in creating change requests, change orders and change authorizations as requested.
- Generate and ensure the execution of MSA’s, SWO’s and track to make sure they are signed, filed, and distributed.
- Assist in real time project financials and dashboards, inform division VP and Project Supervisors of potential issues.
- Work closely with accounting and other Jacobsen departments.
- Maintain effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How You Contribute
- Shaping the development of Jacobsen Building Services’ operational team.
- Demonstrating strong communication and team building skills, along with reporting, management, and proven leadership capabilities.
- Supporting the continual improvement of Jacobsen Building Services applications and processes in order to improve consistency across all projects and the efficiency of operational team members.
- Possessing solid organizational, time management, task prioritization, and timeline management skills.
- Maintaining a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
- Ensuring that comprehensive programs are implemented and maintained.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Monday.com, CompanyCam, Vista, Autodesk, Power BI and any others that are deemed necessary and useful to Jacobsen Building Services.
- Proficient in owner mandated operations software and platforms used for issuing PO’s and billings.
- Researching, evaluating, and making recommendations regarding best practices and trends in construction management process, applications, and associated technology tools.
- Demonstrating initiative to perform work that needs to be done without being asked.
- Completing all assignments in a timely fashion and without error.
- Be dependable, report for work on time every day and demonstrate a desire to be a valued member of the team.
- Delivering excellent customer service to customers and employees by phone, in writing and in person.
- Coordinating with the marketing department to implement JBS branding initiatives.
- Be familiar and be willing to help with all roles and responsibilities of each position within Jacobsen Building Services.
- Propensity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to successfully manage aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
Four-year Construction Management or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the construction and/or engineering industry.
