What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant (Public Accounting) CPA position at Jacobson Lawrence & Co?
As a Tax Accountant : you will review and analyze financial documents in effort to identify the best resolution path for our clients. The Ideal candidate will be experienced in handling negotiations with the IRS and/or State taxing agency to release wage and/or bank levies. Tax returns including Individuals and Corporate.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates regularly with IRS and/or State taxing agency by phone, email and/or fax.
- Effectively prioritizes a high-volume caseload, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and close cases in a timely manner.
- Manages assigned Client Pipeline and any correspondence with IRS/State authorities
- Provides direction to Case Managers to keep Resolutions moving forward
- Daily communication with clients and staff providing case updates and realistic timelines
Experience/Knowledge of/with the following Processes.
- - Filing past - due tax returns
- Removing an IRS levy or federal tax lien
- Removing wage garnishment
- Filing an OIC or CNC
- Setting up tax payment plans
Required Skill Set:
- Must hold an active license for an Enrolled Agent/CPA and have knowledge in matters of IRS and state taxation.
- A minimum of 2 years? experience in a Licensed Enrolled Agent/CPA role.
