Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems. Duties
- Installing category 5e, 6, and 6A cables, including terminating jacks and patch panels.
- Terminating and splicing fiber optic cables.
- Installing J-hooks, sleeves, and applying firestop materials.
- Installing cable trays, communication racks, and plywood backboards.
- Splicing high-pair copper cables.
- Accurately testing and documenting copper and fiber optic cables using DSX 8000 Fluke testers and OTDR testing.
- Diagnosing and resolving copper and fiber optic cabling issues.
- Adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Contributing effectively as part of a project team, ensuring that all challenges are addressed proactively.
- Performing site surveys.
- Identifying differences in wire and cable colors.
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates with BICSI certification and manufacturer-specific credentials.
- Proven 3 experience as a service technician or in a similar role within the low voltage industry.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a background check, employment history investigation, and drug screening.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
