About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to play a key role in assisting with the closing of books and the preparation of financial statements, including monthly and quarterly account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, and work papers for our client companies.
In addition, the Senior Tax Accountant will lead the preparation of tax returns for individual and corporate cross-border clients, ensuring compliance with both domestic and international tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the integrity of general ledgers across multiple sites and client companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and manage the completion of balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements within established deadlines, providing insights into financial performance.
- Offer accounting expertise to assist other departments in interpreting and understanding financial data.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with financial analysis and guidance.
- Handle all aspects of the general ledger, including entering monthly journal entries, executing month-end closing entries, and completing the month-end general ledger close.
- Prepare tax returns for individual clients and corporate clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Branch Manager to support team and client needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax Law
- French DUT/BTS in accounting a minimum of 5 years working experience
- EA or CPA is a plus
Required Skills
- 5 years of tax or accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm is required.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems.
- Tax preparation experience is necessary
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and CCH Axcess or other tax & accounting software is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- French fluency is a plus
- Proven track record of solving practical problems
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle a high-volume workload
