Job Overview:
JAG Physical Therapy is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting recovery, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations, daily assessments, and reassessments to develop personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to establish clear goals, priorities, and outcomes.
- Implement a variety of interventions, including ADLs/IADLs, therapeutic activities, neurological and musculoskeletal interventions, to facilitate optimal recovery and functional mobility.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed records, utilizing our electronic medical record (EMR) system, to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.
- Provide education and training to patients and their support systems on safe transfer techniques, home modifications, and community reintegration strategies.
- Oversee and mentor support staff, including COTAs and OT aides, to ensure effective teamwork and efficient workflow.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, attending seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay current with best practices, research, and emerging trends in occupational therapy.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive work environment by maintaining open lines of communication, demonstrating respect and empathy, and embracing a growth mindset.
Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice (NY, NJ).
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency with EMR software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent clinical decision-making skills, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- 1 year(s) of experience in occupational therapy, preferably in a physical therapy setting.
- Strong work ethic, dedication to patient success, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
