Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Electrical experience is a plus. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of our facility.
Job Summary
Hours are: Tuesday-Friday 2am-12pm
This is a skilled position. An employee in this class performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Work involves primary responsibility for proficiency in several trades, with working conditions and the degree of supervision exercised differing according to the location and nature of assignments. The employee exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures and receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams. Review of work is received from technical or administrative superiors through inspections and discussions.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices used in at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trade.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
- Skilled in the care and use of tools and equipment used in trades involved.
- Physically fit.
- Able to work long hours, 12 hours per day, five days a week.
- Have two years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical, trades.
- Training as may have been gained through completion of the 10th school grade.
- Have any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience.
- Confidentiality is a must.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Familiar with the confined space.
- Familiar with the lock out, tag out.
- Detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments.
- Interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.
- Knowledge of contingency plan.
- Proficient in English for effective communication within the team.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
- A commitment to safety standards and practices in all maintenance activities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Tolerance for bending, standing, and walking for long periods. 20-20 vision with or without prescribed eyeglasses, speaking ability, and hearing accuracy. Manual dexterity. Must be able to move or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. Able to tolerate working on the shop floor all day.
