A-1 Shop Lead

Are you an experienced leader looking for an opportunity to lead a team while staying hands-on in the shop? A-1 is seeking a Shop Lead to support daily operations, provide guidance to technicians, and ensure excellent customer service. This role balances leadership responsibilities with hands-on windshield replacement and repair work.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with managing daily inventory of windshields to support scheduled jobs.

• Perform windshield replacements, rock chip repairs, and mobile service as needed.

• Provide quotes to walk-in customers, process work orders, and assign jobs to technicians.

• Help ensure technicians complete jobs efficiently and safely.

• Work with the Call Center to resolve issues related to work orders, incorrect parts, and customer updates.

• Validate customer billings and receipts, forwarding payments to the Accounting Department.

• Answer incoming calls and assist customers with inquiries, concerns, and complaints.

• Provide input on onboarding and training new employees.

• Communicate employee concerns and operational issues to the Operations or A-1 General Manager.

• Support shop operations as needed.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

• Lift 50-80 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and pulling.

• Work in varying environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.

• Handle chemicals like adhesives, cleaners, and primers.

• Follow all safety protocols, attend training, and use required PPE.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of auto glass installation experience preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of customer service experience in the auto glass industry preferred.

• Knowledge of auto glass safety standards, tools, and installation techniques.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with GTS GlasPak is a plus.

• Ability to recognize and correct installation errors.

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
