The restaurant offers seating in the courtyard, dining room, front patio as well as a side patio. With a hip vibe, Jakes feels like a fun dinner party with friends. Job Summary :
The restaurant Host / Hostess oversees Front of House operations and assists customers such as responding to inquiries, resolving issues or concerns. The Host / Hostess has the primary objective of driving the vision for company and customer standards according to Jakes hospitality standards. The Host / Hostess balances company and customer demands with delivery and execution. The Host / Hostess ensures that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the guest. The Host / Hostess contributes to productivity. The Host / Hostess is responsible for implementing quality assurance policies and practices throughout the company. As a Host / Hostess you will be responsible for greeting and seating all customers to maximize dining room space and waitstaff effectiveness. Use electronic reservation system to track customers reservations. Additionally, responsible for maintaining the Host / Hostess station with a clean appearance and assist in replenishing menus, mints and business cards are kept up in addition to alerting the janitorial department of any restroom needs. Ability to answer a multi-line office telephone and have a keen attention to detail to track guest reservations. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality. Seats guests and manages the seating chart. Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow. Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. Performs opening and closing duties, as needed. Receives payments by validating credit charges for reservations and reservation policies; approving checks; accepting currency; calculating and issuing change for To-Go or cake orders.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Acknowledge and or Greet Customers with Hospitality.
- Answer / Make Phone Calls.
- Make Reservations & Optimize Seating Possibilities.
- Open Table Software Familiarity.
- Taking TO-GO & Delivery Orders, TOAST POS Familiarity .
- Table Updates.
- Remain Visible and Present at the Host Stand when on Duty.
- New Employee Training.
- Attending Workshops and Meetings is Mandatory when Scheduled.
- Keeping Bar Areas & Other Areas Updated at All Times.
- Waiting List Updated at All Times.
- Seating The Bar Area And Other Restaurant Areas.
- Accommodating Special Reservations Requests.
- Clean & Collect Restaurant Menus.
- Delivering Mail to Restaurant Office.
- Clean Front Desk Area and Waiting Areas.
- Remove Extra Settings from Tables When Necessary.
- Bring Extra Settings to Tables When Needed, Help with High-Chairs, Physically Challenged Persons and Service Dogs.
- Selling Merchandising.
- Update Guests Still Waiting to be Seated Any Necessary Restaurant Information.
- Directing Customers Inside the Restaurant or Bar.
- Know all Customer, Manager and Restaurant Behavioral Codes Outlined in Training Materials and SOP.
- On Occasions Will Direct Busboys for Special Requests.
- Notify Waiters and Managers of ALL Specific Guest Requests.
- Confirming All Reservations.
- Not Holding Tables Over 15 Minutes Past the Reservation Time. Follow SOP on Table Releasing Procedures.
- Getting Drink Orders and Drinks for Customers in the Waiting Area When Necessary.
- Be Familiar with All Menus Offered.

Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in manuals or from management. Setting up and breaking down machinery or mechanisms for dining areas and ambiance set-up.
