About the Position
This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in handling plaintiff personal injury cases from inception through trial, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and courtroom advocacy.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal injury claims, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare compelling pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court proceedings.
- Participate in and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, experts, and medical professionals to gather essential information.
- Negotiate effectively with insurance companies and defense counsel to secure favorable settlements for clients.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as needed to achieve successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure timely case progression and maximize efficiency.
- Offer expert strategic legal advice to clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the litigation process.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the New York State Bar.
- 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation (plaintiff-side preferred).
- Superior negotiation and advocacy skills with a client-first approach.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in industry-leading case management software and legal research tools.
