We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Trial Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling plaintiff personal injury cases from inception through trial, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and courtroom advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury claims, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in preparation for court proceedings.
- Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, experts, and medical professionals.
- Engage in negotiations with insurance companies and defense counsel to secure favorable settlements for clients.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as needed.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure timely case progression.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the litigation process.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing).
- 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation (plaintiff-side preferred).
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills with a client-first approach.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in case management software and legal research tools.
