The ideal candidate is responsible for playing a critical role in helping improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The Internal Audit Manager provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Company’s operations. Our mission is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance advice and insight.
The role will also involve working closely with our co-sourced resources and external auditors, as well as various business units within the company. This position will report to the Director of Internal Audit and will be groomed to lead and manage the annual Sarbanes Oxley Audit (SOX)
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for enhancing and maintaining our company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program.
- Requires a deep understanding of SOX, SOX 404, audit controls, SSAE 18, PCAOB, and SEC regulations.
- Perform internal controls documentation, including risk and controls matrices, process flowcharts, and evaluate controls as new systems are developed or processes evolve.
- Manage external consultant resources to execute SOX project plan
- Partner cross functionally with process owners and support w/ training activities, including providing training to the internal finance and accounting organization in areas of controls, policies, and procedures.
- Work with process owners to provide sufficient support to evidence control performance, and coordinate with external auditors on document requests.
- Perform issue tracking remediation, including aligning with the business to develop remediation plans and due dates, and perform post-remediation validation testing.
- Lead and perform assessments of the internal controls impact of new initiatives, including system implementations/updates, new accounting standards and various special projects.
- Track and report overall internal controls assessment status for reporting to senior management.
Skills & Experience required:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as CPA, CIA or similar is required
- 5 years of progressive accounting or internal audit / SOX experience; Big 4 experience is a plus
- Experience with internal controls including process control design, preparation of flowcharts & control matrices, documentation and testing of controls, and identification and reporting of control "gaps" required.
- Understanding of processes and procedures in a global environment.
- Experience with SOX404a/b implementation is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment
- Experience with implementation of and proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and other relevant tools, with preferences for JD Edwards (JDE) and Blackline.

- Compensation: JAKKS Pacific offers a competitive salary. Compensation for this role commensurate with experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $110,000-$140,000.
