What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Jako Cocina y Agave?
Jako Cocina y Agave is seeking an energetic, professional, and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the face of our restaurant. This role requires a warm, outgoing personality, great communication skills, and experience managing OpenTable or similar reservations systems to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests with confidence, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using Open Table.
- Maintain a poised and professional appearance, setting the tone for an elevated dining experience.
- Speak confidently and clearly when interacting with guests in person and over the phone.
- Coordinate with peers and management to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of service.
- Be able to provide hospitable services and accommodate guest preferences when possible.
- Complete open and closing duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in Host/hostessing in a high-volume, upscale restaurant preferred.
- Knowledgeable in Open Table and/or similar reservation systems.
- Outgoing with a bubbly personality that enhances the guest experience.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication with a clear, articulate speaking style.
- A polished appearance that reflects professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, multitask and manage a high-energy atmosphere.
