Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. Our busy ER operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and treats over 117,000 patients annually. We are staffed with an expert team of Board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse assistants along with a robust support staff including respiratory therapists, social workers, case managers who are all dedicated towards one goal : providing the highest level of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse and underserved patients and residents in Queens, New York. We are currently seeking Paramedics for immediate Per Diem day shift opportunities.
DUTIES :
- Performing first-aid as well as advanced and basic life support medical treatment in emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Dispensing oral and intravenous medications as needed.
- Interpreting electrocardiograms, monitors, and other complex equipment.
- Obtaining and recording medical information to complete patient care documents.
- Operating an emergency vehicle to transport accident, injured, and or sick individuals safely and efficiently.
- Performing daily vehicle and DOH compliance inspections.
- Maintaining and ensuring ambulance supply inventory.
